Description: For the first time, a precious anonymous collection of forty-eight verses and twenty-five organ songs in the eight tones is published here, which are likely the oldest partimenti known today after the verses contained in L'Organo Suonarino by Adriano Banchieri: these pieces have so far escaped the attention of scholars dedicated to this fundamental genre of keyboard practice.

The manuscript constitutes the fourth edition of one of the miscellaneous codices that belonged to Father Giovanni Battista Martini (1706-1784), currently preserved in the International Museum and Library of Music in Bologna at location P. 129 (formerly Cod. 96).
