Tastata - Studies and documents

€50.00 (In Stock)

The rapid developments in acoustic physics, which began in the “thirties” and were stimulated by the dualism with electrical circuits and related electronic equipment, have overshadowed the discoveries of previous historical periods. Despite the recent resurgence of interest in this latter field, especially focused on the Scientific Revolution, much work still remains to be done. This volume aims not only to help fill this gap, but also to extend the research up to the present day. The first four chapters address the topic from the Middle Ages to the end of the Scientific Revolution. The remaining seven continue the examination, from the beginning of the eighteenth century to the present day. Since the discussion contains numerous references to performance practice, this work is intended not only for historians of science, but also for musicians and musicologists.
